The small town Sázava located on the river of the same name is famous for its fourth oldest monastery in Bohemia. Sázavský monastery was founded in 1032, today it is open to the public and you can visit here the seasonally open exhibition Slavic Sázava. Nearby there is the gothic castle Český Šternberk also worth visiting, a few miles away the Konopiště castle. The Sázava river itself offers one of the finest boating sections in Bohemia. Accommodation at the river Sázava is not suitable just for paddlers. The proximity to the capital city of Prague and its easy accessibility makes the river Sázava and its surroundings an attractive location for organizing events such as schoolings or teambuilding in Prague.
