The zoo in Liberec is the oldest zoo in the former area of Czechoslovakia. It was founded in 1919 and presently it can be proud cca 170 animal species of the total number of nearly 1.000 specimen. Except for the wide exposition in particular specific pavilions (the pavilions of giraffes, elephants, beasts, monkeys or trops) we ensure tutorials for schools, and you can also find here the wide offer of ecological educational programms. In the lower part of the zoo you can get on a small train, the favourite department is also the contact zoo where the visitors can even pet or feed some animals.

For all fans of fauna and flora, for families with kids and for schools: Welcome in the Zoological and Botanical Garden of the city of Plzeň! Don’t you know where to drive out with your family on Sunday afternoon? Don’t you have any idea how to make your vacation in the West Bohemia more fanciful? Just start out along the trails of wild and gentle animals, enter the life of the insect, get to know beautiful and exotic flowers and the varieties of water and amphibious world. All that can be seen within our exposition in Lochotín in Plzeň.

Small but nice. That´s how most of the people, who visitied our zoo, talk about it. And they also relish they saw many things on a relatively small ground. Although the expositions are located only within a 7,5-hectare park and water area, they offer nearly 580 animals in 173 species. About 70 species belong to the threatened world fauna. The zoo in Hodonín, which is a part of Dúbrava in Hodonín, is very nice by the fact it is situated on a flat ground and is walkable for everyone without problems: for small kids, seniors and physically disabled visitors. And it is not far from the town. From its centre you can get to the zoo by public transport, from the bus stop you get here within 10 min., from the train station you can make it in twice a longer time. For cars there are two large car parks.
